- The Horse is the symbol of Stuttgart and the Lion is the emblem of Bavaria. As for 1865, it refers to the founding of Baden Aniline and Soda Factory, which later became BASF.
- As the primary building block for fertilizers, the rise of ammonia production led to breakthroughs in fertilizer production, such as the development of Nitrophoska®, the world’s first complex fertilizer.
- To satisfy growing global demand for Nitrophoska® fertilizers, BASF started production near Antwerp in 1967.
